How long do I have to return an item?
It depends on the store. Most return windows run 14 to 60 days, with 30 days being the most common — but some stores allow 90 days, while categories like phones can be as short as 14. ReturnMate has built-in return rules for 500+ stores and starts a countdown the moment you add a purchase, so you never have to look the policy up.
How long does a refund take after I return something?
Typically 5–10 business days after the store receives your item, sometimes longer for online returns. ReturnMate tracks every return through started, dropped off and refunded — so money that’s still in limbo never slips out of sight.
What happens if I miss the return window?
Once the window closes, most stores will only offer store credit at best — usually you keep the item and lose the money. That’s exactly what ReturnMate prevents: reminders at 7 days, 3 days, 1 day and on deadline day mean the window never closes on you quietly.
Do I need a receipt to return something?
Most stores require proof of purchase for a full refund. ReturnMate keeps the receipt photo, order email and order id attached to every purchase — so it’s always in your pocket when you’re at the counter.

Pro is an optional subscription that adds Magic fill receipt scanning, order-email parsing, custom reminder schedules and CSV/PDF export. Does ReturnMate need access to my email or bank account?
No. You add purchases yourself — snap a receipt, paste an order email or type it in. Nothing is scraped in the background, you can lock the app with Face ID, and your data exports to CSV or PDF anytime.
Which stores does ReturnMate work with?
Any store, online or in person. Return-window rules for 500+ retailers are built in, and you can set a custom window for everywhere else.
Is ReturnMate available on iPhone and Android?
